SOI Chairman Commends Mrs. Mubarak’s Role
& Hails SOMENA’s Outstanding Developments
Shriver Expresses SOMENA’s Gratitude to KSA & UAE over Financial Support
SOI Chairman Dr. Timothy Shriver started his three-leg tour in the region by paying a visit to Cairo where he met with Egypt’s First Lady and Honorary Chairman of SO Egypt Mrs. Suzan Mubarak.

Attended by SOMENA’s Managing Director Eng. Ayman Abdel Wahab, the meeting touched upon the updates in the region along with the developments SOI achieves on regular basis. Shriver also informed Mrs. Mubarak that the SOI had recently celebrated its 40th anniversary and commended her Excellency’s support of the movement. During his visit to Cairo, the high SOI official also paid a visit to the SOMENA regional office, where he met with the region’s Managing Director and staff.
In the second leg of his tour, Shriver flew to Abu Dhabi where he met with H.H. Sheikh Hamed Ben Zayed Al-Nahayan, Crown Prince Court Chairman. The visit was aimed at receiving the financial support decreed by the President of the UAE H.H. Sheikh Khalifa Ben Zayed, and H.H. Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al-Nahayan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.
SOI Chairman concluded his three-leg visit in the Saudi capital of Riyadh where he met, in the presence of SOMENA Managing Director, with HRH Prince Sultan Bin Fahd General President of Youth Welfare and SO Saudi Arabia Honorary President. During the meeting, Dr. Shriver received the 1 million U.S. dollars contribution offered by KSA to SOMENA.
